A Fire Elemental is a creature born of pure elemental fire. It embodies the destructive and relentless nature of fire, wielding its flames as both a weapon and a source of intimidation. Fire Elementals are often summoned or encountered in locations associated with intense heat, such as volcanic regions, fiery planes, or magically infused environments.

Visually, a Fire Elemental appears as a swirling, humanoid-shaped mass of flickering flames, radiating intense heat and emitting a soft, fiery glow. It has no discernible facial features or solid body, as it is composed entirely of flames that dance and shape themselves into a humanoid form. The size of a Fire Elemental can vary, from small and nimble to towering and imposing.

As creatures of elemental fire, Fire Elementals possess immense power over flames and heat. They can ignite flammable objects, scorch their enemies with searing touch, and create fiery vortexes to engulf their foes. Their mere presence raises the ambient temperature and can set the surrounding environment ablaze. They are particularly resistant to fire damage and are immune to effects that would normally cause exhaustion or being poisoned.

In combat, Fire Elementals are relentless and aggressive. They attack with searing touch or fiery projectiles, engulfing their opponents in scorching flames. They possess the ability to ignite or melt objects, making them capable of destroying obstacles or manipulating the environment to their advantage. Fire Elementals are immune to fire-based attacks, making traditional means of extinguishing them ineffective.

Fire Elementals can be summoned and controlled by powerful spellcasters or elemental cultists. They are often employed as guardians of sacred places, defenders of powerful artifacts, or as agents of destruction. Their fiery nature and destructive tendencies make them formidable foes, and adventurers must be prepared to counter their resistance to fire-based attacks.

Interacting with a Fire Elemental outside of combat can be challenging due to its fiery nature. However, they can be reasoned with, particularly if offered offerings or promises of more fuel to feed their elemental flames. They may be willing to share their knowledge of fire-related magic or provide assistance in dealing with threats related to flame or heat.

Special Abilities

Fire Form

The elemental can move through a space as narrow as 1 inch wide without squeezing. A creature that touches the elemental or hits it with a melee attack while within 5 ft. of it takes 5 (1d10) fire damage. In addition, the elemental can enter a hostile creature’s space and stop there. The first time it enters a creature’s space on a turn, that creature takes 5 (1d10) fire damage and catches fire; until someone takes an action to douse the fire, the creature takes 5 (1d10) fire damage at the start of each of its turns.

The elemental sheds bright light in a 30-foot radius and dim light in an additional 30 ft..

Water Susceptibility

For every 5 ft. the elemental moves in water, or for every gallon of water splashed on it, it takes 1 cold damage.
