Accompanying the Bake-kujira are strange ethereal birds and fish, floating around it as if in a macabre dance. The air around the creature feels heavy, and a sense of foreboding and misfortune permeates the area where it resides.

Legends speak of the Bake-kujira as an omen of doom and tragedy. Its presence brings forth a curse that inflicts great misfortune upon the land and its inhabitants. Crops wither, diseases spread, and accidents become frequent in the vicinity of its lair. The ghostly creature is said to be drawn to places where great suffering or atrocities have occurred.

The Bake-kujira possesses the ability to fly effortlessly, defying gravity as it hovers above the ground. Its spectral form allows it to pass through objects and creatures, making it a formidable and elusive foe. Special Abilities

Curse of the Ghost Whale: Any creature that starts its turn within 60 feet of the Bake-kujira must succeed on a DC 15 Wisdom saving throw or suffer disadvantage on all attack rolls, ability checks, and saving throws for 1 minute. The creature can repeat the saving throw at the end of each of its turns, ending the effect on a success.

Undead Nature: The Bake-kujira doesn’t require air, food, drink, or sleep.

Spectral Slam: Melee Weapon Attack: +10 to hit, reach 15 ft., one target. Hit: 33 (4d12 + 6) bludgeoning damage plus 14 (4d6) necrotic damage.

Soul Wail (Recharge 6): The Bake-kujira emits a haunting wail, forcing all creatures within 60 feet of it to make a DC 15 Wisdom saving throw. On a failed save, a creature takes 22 (4d10) psychic damage and is stunned until the end of its next turn. On a successful save, the creature takes half damage and isn’t stunned.

Ethereal Presence: The Bake-kujira and any creatures within 10 feet of it gain the ability to move through other creatures and objects as if they were difficult terrain. The creature takes 5 (1d10) force damage if it ends its turn inside an object.
