Arcane Novice

You've dabbled in magical studies, enough to cast spells on a rudimentary level. While not a full-fledged mage, your magical abilities can still be quite useful. You gain the following benefits:

• Choose a spellcasting class (Wizard, Sorcerer, Cleric, etc.). You learn two cantrips and one 1st-level spell from that class's spell list.
• The chosen 1st-level spell can be cast once per long rest, without using any spell slots.
• Your spellcasting ability for these spells is the same as the class you chose: Intelligence for Wizard, Wisdom for Cleric or Druid, etc.

With your limited but useful magical skills, you add a new dimension to your capabilities.
